Career progression depends on what kind of entertainer you are and different sectors of the entertainment industry may have very different experiences.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the employment of producers and directors is expected to grow 8% from 2021 to 2031, with approximately 17,500 openings for directors and producers for film and stage projected each year. 

Actors can expect a similar 8% growth from 2021 to 2031 with roughly 7,000 projected job openings per year.
