Corporate Trainer Resume Questions

1. How do you write the qualifications section of a corporate trainer resume?

The qualifications section of a resume is typically a list of skills that appears near the top of your document. To make it more effective, use a format such as a bulleted list and aim for six to eight bullet points that are concise and to the point. In our corporate trainer resume sample, you can see the candidate gives his most valuable skills, such as “organized and always well-prepared” and “proven track record.” The skills you list should align closely with the qualifications in the job posting, provided these are talents that you have.

2. How do you optimize your corporate trainer resume for an ATS?

An ATS, or applicant tracking system, is a way for recruiters to weed out the resumes of unqualified applicants. Because you don’t want this to happen to you, you need to ensure your document has key qualifications from the job posting. These are the terms that recruiters often put into an ATS, which will automatically scan your resume for them. Use these terms verbatim; for example, if a job description includes the phrase “team player,” make sure “team player” appears somewhere in your text.

3. How do you list certifications on your corporate trainer resume?

There are a couple different ways to feature your certifications on your resume. In our corporate trainer resume sample, these appear in the qualifications section. Not only does the candidate mention that he has certification from “several manufacturers for a variety of products,” but he also expresses his eagerness to pursue more certifications by including the phrase “always seeking new certifications and ways to expand educational background.” Another way to list certifications is to place them in the education section of your document. You can put them either before or after your degrees and follow a similar format of naming the certification and giving the year you received it.

4. How do you list schools in a corporate trainer resume?

In your education section, give the name and location of each post-secondary school you attended, the name of the degree or coursework and field of study, and the year of completion. You may want to organize your list with your highest degree appearing first. This will often also be your most recent, and you can work backward chronologically from there. There’s no need to add GPA information, but if you graduated with certain honors such as cum laude, you may choose to share that here.
